What is the Friends of the Parks?
Friends of Medina County Parks, Inc. is a non-profit organization of individuals, families, businesses and organizations dedicated to preserving green space and providing recreational and educational opportunities in Medina County. The group was formed in 1972 and works to promote and support the mission of the park district.
Why become a Friend of the Parks?
Your membership entitles you to certain privileges unavailable to the general public, including:
Participation in "Friends' Only" events
Friends' newsletter, Acorn, mailed directly to your home
Discounts on rentals of park facilities
What type of support does the Friends of the Parks group provide?
Funds raised by the Friends through membership and other activities assist the park district in many ways including:
Sponsorship for educational presentations and entertainment
Supplies and equipment for public programs
Funds for land acquisition
Assistance to county schools for field studies at the Wolf Creek Environmental Center
Other Ways You Can Help
The park district utilizes a large group of volunteers each year to help with the operation of the parks. Many park programs and facilities exist due to volunteer efforts. We can use your time and talents in a variety of areas!
How to become a Friend of the Parks
