The Lester Rail Trail is the first example of conversion of a former rail corridor for public use as a bike/hike trail in Medina County. The trail extends 3.2 miles from Abbeyville Road to Lester Road in York Township.
Visitors to the trail can enjoy mostly level terrain which travels through farmland. Wildlife along the trail is abundant, and remnants of prairie grasses can be seen as well. The Cardinal Flower, a relatively rare wetland species, can be seen in wet areas along the trail.
Parking can be found at the rear of the Medina County Career Center in the northeast corner of the parking lot or on Lester Road. The trail descends slightly as you travel from Lester Road to Abbeyville Road.
