Medina County Park District’s headquarters is a restored 72-by-35-foot bank barn with an attached 30-by-56-foot shed. Other features include roof cupolas and a silo. Formerly part of the Medina County Home’s working farm, the barn was constructed around the turn of the 20th century and renovated in 1990-91. Volunteers held “painting parties” to paint the siding boards. The barn initially housed almost the park district’s entire staff. Today, it’s home to the administrative offices and the planning department. Other buildings on the headquarters campus provide space for the operations, natural resource, and ranger departments. The interpretive services staff is based at Wolf Creek Environmental Center.
Medina County Park District is proud to make its home here and to see this symbol of our community’s rural heritage preserved for future generations.
